Yvonne joined the staff at the MAEC in August 2023 as the preschool special education teacher. She also supports special education teachers across the Cooperative who are working in K-12 settings. She previously worked at the Office of Public Instruction where she was a comprehensive school improvement specialist and accessibility and assessment specialist for special populations. Yvonne was also a special education teacher in Charlotte, North Carolina as a part of an AmeriCorps program. Yvonne came to the special education field as a music teacher. She was the music instruction coordinator at a unique music centered post-secondary school for students with developmental disabilities in South Hadley, Massachusetts called Berkshire Hills Music Academy. Yvonne is currently pursuing her school psychology degree at Eastern Washington University. She is enjoying being back home in Missoula. She loves getting outdoors with her dog and watching her son run track for the University of Montana. Go Griz!
